Bailey Seagraves has been helping develop goalies since 2012 but started coaching full-time in 2017 shortly after he accepted the role as Emergency Backup Goaltender for the Columbus Blue Jackets in the NHL. With the rapid growth, Seagraves Goaltending was officially founded in 2019! 

A native of Hilliard, OH, Bailey played his youth hockey in Columbus with the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets. During his time with the AAA Jackets, he earned multiple US National Festival Camp invites, the opportunity to compete for a spot on the USNTDP, and then later drafted by the Chicago Steel in the USHL Futures Draft. He would go on to play his Junior hockey career in the USHL, NAHL & USPHL Premier (now NCDC) before moving on to his role with the Columbus Blue Jackets. 

Bailey has been the goaltending coach for the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets program since 2017, where he has helped develop and advance their goalies to the junior and college levels. He also serves as the director of goaltending development for Battery Hockey Academy. Along with OBJ, Bailey is the goalie coach for the Columbus Mavericks junior team and a variety of central Ohio's top high school programs, which under his guidance, have won State Championships and league titles. Bailey served as goalie coach for The Ohio State Women's D1 team from 2021-23. During his tenure there, he helped aid the Buckeyes to a WCHA Frozen Faceoff championship, a WCHA regular season title, and the program's first-ever national championship.

Originally from Redwood City, California, Michael grew up playing hockey from the age of 4 and goaltending starting at the age of 9. He played at the highest club level for 7 years finishing with the Ohio Blue Jackets U18 AAA (2020-2021). He also played at the junior A level in the USHL, NAHL, and finished juniors in the BCHL with the Surrey Eagles (2022-2023). He later continued his career in Division 1 hockey at Robert Morris University (2023-2024). After completing a year of Division 1 hockey, Michael made the difficult decision to prioritize earning his degree in finance and shift his passion for hockey into the role of coaching. Starting his coaching career, Michael has worked in various clinics over the last few years coaching kids of all ages in camps with Bailey Seagraves.

Michael believes in a holistic approach to coaching, focusing not only on skill development and tactical understanding but also on building character, teamwork, and sportsmanship. His coaching philosophy emphasizes hard work, resilience, and a love for the game, which he instills in the players we work with.
